The Ghana Football Association's inability to resolve disrupt among league clubs is reallycausing as the saying goes "financial loss to" soccer clubs in Ghana. The constant and persistent legal battles between the GFA and clubs as well as among clubs, always and consistently brings our leagues to a halt.. And this does not only affect the premiership Clubs but also Clubs in the lower divisions.
Soccer club management like any other business concern, is managed by some management personel and some other workers. And so long as you engage the services of all these people
you are obliged to pay them at the end of every month. However, if your workers are producing
nothing, and you keep paying them you will be running yourself into financial troubles that you might never recover from.
In the case of Heart of Lions and I guess other premiership clubs, the club only makes money when the league is in session. However, the club has been inactive for some time now, that means no revenue comes to the club rather the club keeps spending. For instance Hearts of Lions spends over 100,000.00 cedis a months in terms of salaries paid to player and it is getting nothing in return.
The Premier league was suppose to start in August this year, but its now October and nobody knows when it will start. We believe the GFA should sit up and get its act together, because such inefficiency on their part is causing league club a great deal of money. And remember this is not the first time it is happening. Season in, season out the same situation occurs.
Anyway congratulation to the Lions for defeating the defending league champions Hearts of Oak by two goal to nothing.
